An upshot of collaboration between Christina Hansen from Kolding School of Design and Kerstin Kongsted from Aarhus School of Architecture, the Datteren (Daughter in English) is an inviting, relaxing piece of furniture that draws inspiration from mother’s womb. The project was designed on the basis of the abstract word “body container” and to give the thought a real shape, the team turned to mother’s womb, the first body container that we come across as human beings.

Offering a feeling of security and nearness, Datteren comes crocheted in a soft, organic material, which lets the user adjust and interact with the furniture piece in various ways to suit their needs.
