You are not going to find something like this easily on the shelves. Touted to be the world’s first, military inspired tri-rail lamp, the Andromeda by Sketchy Design Studio is a sure conversation starter that won’t go unnoticed being placed inside any corner of your abode. The Andromeda lamp uses the picatinny rail system, which helps you customize the lamp’s appearance. Sketchy Design Studio came up with the unique, badass lamp after visualizing other possibilities of the rail systems used by the military.

To create the Andromeda, Sketchy Design Studio used it own patent pending tri-rail design instead of the existing quad rail system. The bold yet beautiful lamp will be made from black anodized aluminum, composite grade nylon, woven cord and multihued anodized bolts. The knurled nuts allow users to adjust the arms and shades in various positions. The Andromeda lamp features a filament bulb. The military styled on/off switch has been positioned at the base of the lamp. The Andromeda lamp comprises more than 20 different parts, which include screws, mounts, clips and wiring.

The project will be funded if they meet the pledged goal of $70,000 by August 26, 2012. The suggested retail price is $560, but they also have lower pricing options for the project’s backers.
